In 1970, in the Harlem neighborhood of New York, Frank Lucas decides to take over the drug trade following the death of the local boss whose driver and confidant he had been for fifteen years. Young, ambitious, and intelligent, he doesn't want to depend on anyone and sets up his own network. Using U.S. military planes, he imports massive quantities of heroin and quickly amasses a colossal fortune.
