Dr. Louis Creed, his wife Rachel, and their two young children move from Boston to rural Maine. Near his home, the doctor discovers a mysterious cemetery hidden deep in the woods. Soon after, tragedy strikes. Creed enlists the help of a strange neighbor, Jud Crandall. Unknowingly, he has set in motion a series of tragic events that will give rise to fearsome evil.
