A journalist with no family, Flavien Juste earns his living by writing bogus reports for a tabloid newspaper. His boss and supposed father sends him and photographer Armand Despas to cover strange phenomena occurring in a village in the hinterland. Along the way, Flavien is the only one to see the ghost of a young, bloodless bride standing in the road. Then the two men stop at the inn, where two elderly twin sisters with a dark past live. That same evening, Armand mysteriously disappears. To investigate among the often hostile villagers, Flavien enlists the help of the Down's syndrome son of the local bar owner and a young single mother, with whom he falls in love. But disturbing discoveries await the journalist.
