Starrett 1015 Dial Thickness Gauges can measure the thickness of a wide range of materials. After inserting the part between the measuring contacts, releasing the lever will cause the spindle to contact the part, giving an accurate size reading because the measuring pressure is independent of the user. Indicators have ruby bearings and continuous dials. Models with balanced dials, other graduations and ranges are also available by special order. Throat depth is 2-1/2 in. Contact edges are rounded to prevent marring or deflection of the part. Flat contact area is 1/4 in. (6.3 mm) in diameter and 1/8 in. (0.125 mm) thick.
