While in Berlin to give a lecture, Dr. Martin Harris is involved in a serious taxi accident. He falls into a coma and wakes up several days later in the hospital. His life is turned upside down. No one, not even his own wife, Elizabeth, recognizes him. He soon discovers that a man has assumed his identity and is trying to kill him. The authorities refuse to listen, and Martin finds himself alone, exhausted, and on the run.
